Shed-Building Team
Help us protect reclaimed materials from the elements — one shed at a time.
Join The ReUse People of Canada (TRP Canada) in constructing small structures that keep
valuable wood and fixtures safe and dry. These sheds and racks form the backbone of our reuse infrastructure —
and every board you help install extends the life of materials that would otherwise go to waste.
What You’ll Do
- • Build storage sheds, racks, and covers for reclaimed materials
- • Cut, measure, and assemble components using safe hand and power tools
- • Work in teams to lift and install panels and roofing
- • Paint, finish, and help organize protected storage areas
Time & Schedule
Shed-building takes place during scheduled Build Days — usually Saturdays or selected weekday afternoons.
Sessions run 4–6 hours. Groups (schools, businesses, community organizations) can book a dedicated Build Day.
Training & Tools
No construction background needed — we provide full orientation and supervision:
- • Safety briefing and basic carpentry instruction
- • Tools and protective equipment (PPE)
- • Guidance from experienced TRP staff and trades mentors
Who It’s For
Ideal for students, apprentices, retirees, and community groups who want to build something tangible
and immediately useful. Shed-building volunteers help secure thousands of board feet of material against the weather —
ensuring nothing reusable is lost to rain or rot.
preserving its value for future builds and preventing nearly a tonne of waste from entering the landfill.
